On February 9th, our school held the 2024 Guangxi University Foreign Teachers and International Students Spring Festival Eve Dinner event. Liu Xiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the school, gathered with foreign teachers and students studying in China to celebrate the Chinese New Year's Eve dinner.
On behalf of Guangxi University, Liu Xiang expressed his gratitude to the foreign teachers and international students who participated in the event. He thanked them for their active cooperation in various aspects of the school's work over the past year and for their fruitful achievements in teaching, research, and international student work. He also extended the best New Year greetings to the teachers and students who participated in the event.
At Dongyuan Restaurant, Chinese and foreign teachers and students tasted carefully prepared Chinese dishes by the school's chef team, including dumplings symbolizing reunion, fish dishes representing harvest, and various hot and cold dishes symbolizing auspiciousness. While savoring traditional Chinese cuisine, they experienced a peaceful and happy Chinese New Year.
Miao Maoqin, an international student from Myanmar, said that China is like his second home. Eating New Year's Eve dinner and celebrating the Chinese New Year at school will be a precious memory of his study abroad life, allowing him to deeply appreciate the Chinese people's value for family and reunion, and to deeply integrate into the Chinese family, deepening his love for this beautiful country.
Stani, an international student from Russia, said that he is very grateful to the school for preparing a sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner for the students. Although the food in southern China is very different from that in Russia, he still likes it very much. There are many Chinese specialties. He hopes to continue to spend the Chinese Spring Festival together next year.
